This will be s open, facilitated maker/builder time where eveyrone, at any skill level, is invited to kick off the maker track at MCN. We'll have tons of components, people to help with circuitry, programming, wiring and soldering, and small sessions for teaching specific tasks. We will, as a group, look at what we want to learn, and using the MCN conference theme as a jumping off pint, decide on a project that we will continually build throughout the conference, spreading the gospel and joy of open hacking to all conference participants!
The goal of this half day workshop is to kick off the Maker/builder track of MCN. Since last year, there's been a larger contingent of those either interested in learning maker skills, and many with the skills (usually developed outside of their museum work) have come forward, eager to participate. This half-day workshop will bring together everyone, at any level, to come up with an idea for an elaborate building project that anyone at the conference can help with- from concept, to design, wiring, andinstallation.
